Zainab Behnod Haidari holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the same field. With over four years of experience in individual counseling, social work, and empowering vulnerable women, she has developed strong skills in emotional support, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care. Working with individuals facing significant challenges has allowed her to support their journeys toward healing, self-awareness, and resilience. Zainab currently serves as the Mental Health Facilitator and Coordinator of the Dil Ba Dil program at Abrar in Toronto. This program, launched for the first time in the city, focuses on supporting Afghan newcomer women—particularly in mental health—by creating safe, inclusive spaces for healing, sharing, and personal growth. Her passion lies in fostering community, resilience, and emotional well-being among women navigating complex transitions. Through her work, Zainab has developed key skills in effective communication, cross-cultural sensitivity, and program coordination. These experiences have contributed significantly to her professional development and deepened her commitment to advocating for marginalized communities.
