SUMMARY:Voices Unleashed: Youth Rising Post-Pandemic (In This Together)
DESCRIPTION:Marking the anniversary of Ontario’s school closures\, “Voices Unleashed: Youth Rising Post-Pandemic” is a youth-led conference designed to empower marginalized youth\, particularly immigrants and newcomers\, by addressing the racial and societal challenges worsened by the pandemic. \nWith the generous support of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF)\, we are proud to revive our “In This Together” project after a two-year pause. This time\, we are expanding the initiative with a significant follow-up conference under the project\, titled “Voices Unleashed: Youth Rising Post-Pandemic.” \n\nThis event will feature youth-led panels\, interactive workshops\, and creative art-based presentations\, providing a platform for dialogue\, skill-building\, and artistic expression. Participants will explore themes such as the mental health impact of COVID-19\, the surge in racism and xenophobia\, and practical recovery strategies. By combining thoughtful discussions with creative outlets\, the conference aims to build resilience\, foster community\, and promote proactive engagement in anti-racism efforts.\nThe “In This Together” project has previously focused on mobilizing communities to address the mental health impacts of the pandemic on marginalized youth\, advocating for systemic changes\, and providing support for those disproportionately affected. This conference continues that mission\, inspiring action\, supporting inclusivity\, and mobilizing communities to prevent future occurrences of hate and racism.
